Radiation portal monitors
for vehicle control

Radiation portal monitors (RPMs) are specialised systems used to monitor and detect radioactivity and nuclear materials. They are installed at strategic access points to prevent the passage of contaminated loads or unauthorised radioactive sources.

PoliGate™: portal monitors for trucks and cars

The PoliGate™ series of portal monitors are designed for the inspection of trucks and other vehicles, housed in a robust and easy-to-install structure.

PoliGate™ monitors are simple to operate and maintain, require minimal training, and are supplied with user-friendly software that provides real-time data, alarm notifications and basic diagnostics.

The PoliGate™ radiation portal monitors comply with the requirements for monitoring radioactive sources in foundries and steel plants, as specified in Royal Decree 451/2020 of 10 March on the control and recovery of orphan radioactive sources.

The system is modular and available in three models to suit different monitoring configurations:

  • PoliGate™ LG1 radiation portal monitor with two pillars (each with two 8,800 cm3 PVT scintillation detector modules); monitoring area: 1.5 m × 2 m.
  • PoliGate™ LG2 radiation portal monitor with two pillars (each with four 8,800 cm3 PVT scintillation detector modules); monitoring area: 6 m × 2 m.
  • PoliGate™ LG4 radiation portal monitor with two pillars (each with four 8,800 cm3 PVT scintillation detector modules); monitoring area: 6 m × 4.5 m.
