Hand-held and personal radiation detectors
These are portable devices that measure and display radiation levels, and activate audible and/or vibrating alarms when normal background levels or preset thresholds are exceeded; they are used to detect and search for radioactive material, to warn of elevated radiation levels, to conduct rapid contamination surveys, and to measure ambient dose rate levels.
PM1710A Hand-held radiation monitor
A portable, high-sensitivity gamma radiation monitor designed for the search, detection and location of radioactive materials. The PM1710A monitor incorporates a large-volume CsI(Tl) scintillator detection block that gives excellent sensitivity to gamma radiation, in a compact hand-held device. The unit incorporates audible and vibrating alarms to signal when radiation levels pass a preset background threshold automatically calculated by the instrument. The alarm rate varies as the monitor approaches or recedes from the radiation source to aid location. Data including alarm times and levels are stored in a non-volatime memory and can be downloaded to a PC via an infra-red communications channel. Also available with He-3 neutron detector incorporated (PM1710GN) for enhanced detection of plutonium.

PM1703M Series Gamma radiation pagers
Designed for use in the front-line against illicit movements of radioactive materials, and employed by law enforcement agencies, emergency response personnel, and customs officials across the world. Based on a CsI(Tl) scintillator detection block to give far better sensitivity than Geiger-based devices and housed in a small, compact and lightweight unit, PM1703M radiation pagers display the radition levels on a backlit LCD, and activates an alarm (audible and vibrating) when radiation levels pass a preset threshold. The PM1703M can be switched to read radiation levels in terms of either dose-rate or counting-rate modes to suit the application. Data including alarm times and levels are stored in a non-volatile memory and can be downloaded to a PC via an IR-channel. Also available with LiI(Eu) neutron detector incorporated (model PM1703GN) for enhanced detection of special nuclear materiales such as plutonium. The model PM1703MA additionally features communication to PC and mobile devices via bluetooth.

Inspector Hand-held radiation detector
Used for a wide range of radiation detection applications, including search and detection of radioactive materials, X-ray leak detection, radioactive contamination surveys (also suitable for measurement surface contamination by alpha and beta emitters). The Inspector is a Geiger-Müller detector incorporating a large-area 45 mm diameter pancake-geometry Geiger tube with mica window, sensitive to alpha, beta, gamma radiation and X-rays (down de 10 keV). The instrument activates an alarm if radiation levels exceed a pre-set threshold. The large digital display can be switched between count rate and dose rate modes. As an optional extra, the Inspector can be supplied with a software package (Obsever software) and communications cable to enable real-time visualization of count rate data on a PC, together with data storage and statistical manipulation. Also available with a 70 mm diameter external Geiger-Müller probe (Inspector EXP model) instead of an internal G-M tube. Instrument supplied may be either Inspector+ or Inspector Alert versions depending on current inventory (the versions are exactly equivalent in all respects, except that the Inspector Alert version features a monochrome, rather than blue/yellow, front panel).

RadAlert100 Hand-held radiation detector
A popular, reliable and easy-to-use general purpose radiation detector incorporating a cylindrical-geometry Geiger tube with mica window, sensitive the alpha, beta, gamma and X-radiation. The instrument activates an alarm when radiation levels exceed a pre-set threshold. The large digital display can be switched between count rate and dose rate modes. Dual miniature jack output can sends counts to a PC, while submini jack provides audio output to an external earpiece or amplifier. As an optional extra, the RadAlert100 can be supplied with a software package (Obsever software) and communications cable to enable real-time visualization of count rate data on a PC, together with data storage and statistical manipulation. Instrument supplied may be either RadAlert100 or Digilert100 version depending on current inventory (the versions are exactly equivalent in all respects, except that the Digilert100 version features a blue/yellow front panel, rather than the monochrome front panel of the RadAlert100)

PM1621M Pager/dosimeter
A unique hybrid device combining a compact personal radiation monitor with a dosimeter used for measuring X-ray and gamma radiation doses and dose rate. Used both for search and detection of radiation sources, and dose rate monitoring. Incorporates vibration and audible alarm to warn the user of elevated radiation levels; alarm thresholds can be set in terms of both dose rate and accumulated dose. Measures dose and dose rate (personal dose Hp(10) ) from photon radiation down to low energy X-rays (10 keV). Data including dose histories and alarm events are stored in a non-volatile memory and can be downloaded to a PC via an IrDA (infra-red) port (software included). A clip on the rear of the instrument allows the user to wear the instrument on a belt or pocket.

PM1710C Wall-mounted radiation detectors
The wall-mounted PM1710C Gamma monitors are highly sensitive instruments designed for radiation monitoring and thus protection of a building against radioactive contamination. The detectors may be fixed near doorways and facility entrances to continuously monitor human traffic and their luggage against radioactive sources presence.
The PM1710C has a radiation sensitivity that is close to the sensitivity of the much larger and significantly more expensive pedestrian radiation portal monitors. The PM1710C achieves such sensitivity through their large CsI(Tl) gamma radiation detectors, in a small and compact ergonomic design.
When the instrument detects radiation that exceeds the preset threshold values, the alarms will begin to signal the danger via both the audible and visual alarms. To locate the radioactive source, the detector can be easily removed from a wall mounting cradle and used as a regular hand-held radiation detector.
Also available with a He-3 neutron detector incorporated (model PM1710GNC).

NukeAlert 951 Gamma radiation pager
The NukeAlert 951 is a small and lightweight gamma pager designed specifically for non-technical personnel, with simple operation and display to warn when background radiation levels are exceeded. Ideal for security screening, monitoring scrap metals for radioactive sources, and related applications. Based on a CsI(Tl) scintillator, the device incorporates audible, vibration and flashing LED alarms which activate at elevated radiation levels; alarms pulses and vibrations increase with the radiation level, while the LED alarm changes colour from orange to red. An LED display shows radiation level on a scale of 1 to 9, with 9 corresponding to approx. 25 µSv/hr; a dose rate equivalence chart is included in the operation manual.
